![]() EXECUTIVE SUMMARYRenaissance Community Development Corporation Center, Inc. is a 501©3 non-profit organization with a mission to return at-risk individuals to society with values, attitudes and skills that lead to healthy behaviors and productive lifestyles. To that end, we have created a comprehensive multi-discipline program that addresses the need for academic, vocational and behavior modification reentry services to adult ex-offenders, as well as juvenile ex-offenders in the City of Newark. Renaissance Construction Company in partnership with the Local #1153,G.A.N.E. and the City of Newark's N.J. Department of Labor, Prisoner Re-entry Initiative provides On-the-job Training in the Construction trades for ex-offenders returning to their families and community Project Redemption Participants will receive psychosocial repatriation and mentoring services to facilitate a successful reentry process. Where identified, R.C.T.I will provide A B E/E S L/G E D & Literacy training. Then, working collaboratively with Renaissance Construction Company, Local # 55, Local #1153 and G.A.N.E. will move into the workbased-learning phase of the program. Where, participants gain valuable real-world skills training from craftsperson in the building trades. Social adjustment skills will be redirected by proper mentors. This rehabilitation program participant will give marketable experience to ex-offenders for employment and bring high equality of life to the community. However, this program also focuses on juvenile ex-offenders which outcome is not exclusively employment as in the adult component of reentry program. Here, the expected outcome is toward academic repatriation services giving juvenile ex-offenders the best chance for success in modifying destructive behaviors and becoming productive members of their community. |
